Brian Wilkinson
Brian joined enb consulting following 20 years in equity markets research and corporate finance. A fluent speaker of German, Brian’s career has been focused in international equity markets.
Recently a Director of Chemicals Corporate Finance at HSBC, his career started in German market equity research where he covered a wide variety of companies ranging from software to steel, chemicals to consumer goods. He has worked for a number of UK and French banks including Paribas, eventually joining James Capel and thereby HSBC in 1994.
Brian was frequently ‘taken over the wall’ to be closely involved in equity capital markets work throughout Europe and the Far East including Hungary, Israel, Japan and Poland. This included the flotation of companies as diverse as the pipe-maker, Huta Ferrum, an international steel trader, Stalexport, to an archetypal German ‘mittelstand’ company , Friedrich Grohe AG. He led ground breaking research initiatives in the Agrochemicals Sector leading directly to significant M&A and refinancing mandates for leading European companies in the sector. This was followed by corporate finance and origination activities in the Specialty Chemicals sector throughout Europe.
When out of the office Brian has a passion for sailing and can often be found racing around in the Solent , English Channel and offshore ocean races. In 2006, Brian achieved a class win in the 1800 mile long Round Britain and Ireland race.
