Before enb, Paul was Head of Operations at NM Rothschild & Sons Ltd, running the settlements area of the Treasury Division. He joined Rothschild in 1990 as its first Training Manager. In 1995 he transferred to the Treasury Division first in Resource banking, providing project finance for the mining sector and then taking on the management of the Treasury’s credit and documentation teams, where he also acted as Divisional Compliance Officer.
Prior to this, Paul worked for DC Gardner, a major training provider for the financial sector, firstly based in London and then for two years running the company’s Dutch subsidiary, based in Amsterdam.
Paul started his banking career in 1980 when he joined the Corporate Banking Department of Grindlays Bank (then part of the Citibank Group) before moving into the Corporate Finance Division. After spending two years in private banking in Dubai, he returned to the UK to head up derivative sales for the Treasury Division of the ANZ Banking Group (owners of Grindlays since 1984) concentrating on UK corporate clients of the bank.
Paul graduated from the University of Southampton with a degree in Economics.
When out of the office, Paul indulges in his passion for vintage cars, mostly racing and touring, with the time in between spent fixing the bits that have broken or cycling in the Surrey hills.
