Tim worked in the financial markets for fifteen years prior to embarking on his career as a consultant to financial institutions.
Tim’s recent consultancy experience includes a period running the KPMG Banking School in Singapore. His responsibilities there included consulting work with financial institutions on their risk management and solvency issues, and working with the KPMG audit teams to ensure correct valuation and accounting treatment of derivative portfolios. Tim also worked with KPMG’s non-banking clients on the implications of IAS39.
Prior to working for KPMG Consulting Tim was a consultant at DC Gardner Training, during which time he worked with many international financial institutions on the development and delivery of their training programmes.
Tim started his career as a proprietary trader for a UK clearing bank. With a remit to take market risk across the whole treasury spectrum, he concentrated on structuring trades using derivative products. In this capacity he worked closely with both FX and interest rate inter-bank option trading desks and subsequently moved to trade interest rate options in the inter-bank market.
Prior to joining KPMG Tim was a derivatives trader at Standard Chartered Bank where he ran the interest rate swaps and options book for the European currencies and was involved in the implementation of the risk management system.
